The Government of the Czech Republic, through humanitarian aid (Czech Aid) and the Czech NGO People in Need are pulling together their resources to provide immediate support and relief to those impacted by the flooding across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Czech Aid and People in Need are making an immediate donation of 25,000 BAM in non-food items to the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Jablanica to support their response to the recent natural disaster. The funds were provided by Czech Aid and individual citizens of the Czech Republic as part of People in Need’s Club of Friends programme. This donation will enable essential assistance to local communities in their efforts to cope with the effects of the floods.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the recent flooding in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During this difficult time, our focus is on providing urgent assistance to the affected communities to support citizens and help in the recovery of impacted areas,” H.E. Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The damage is not limited to Jablanica alone. In the days ahead, People In Need and Czech Aid will continue exploring how to support the communities of Konjic, Kiseljak, Kruševo, Fojnica, Hadžići, Drežnica and many other areas to recover from this horrific disaster.

Both Czech Aid and People in Need stand in solidarity with all affected communities and continues to actively seek ways to further support recovery and provide assistance to those who need it most.

“We are immensely grateful to the people of the Czech Republic for this rapid support. We will continue working closely with our municipal partners across the region on recovery efforts,” Dajana Bogdanović, Project Coordinator at People in Need.
