Open call for grant and training for grassroots civil society organizations and groups working on circular economy and waste reduction
Published: Feb 18, 2025 Reading time: 2 minutes Share: Share an articlePeople in Need (PIN) is announcing a Call for Participation in training and grant support for grassroots civil society organisations (CSOs) and informal groups working on circular economy and waste reduction. The Call is within the framework of the project "Civil Society and Youth for Inclusive and Sustainable Development through Circular Economy in North Macedonia," funded by the European Union.

Over the period of two years, two rounds of trainings will be offered to at least 23 grassroots CSOs to strengthen their organisational, technical, advocacy capacities, and internal governance systems (min 12 CSOs in the first round, and min 11 CSOs in the second one). The Call is open to grassroots outside Skopje and working on circular economy and waste related issues. A small follow up financial support – grants up to 3000 EUR will be made available only to those who participated in the training and those who will be further recommended for financial support to implement their ideas.
Under this Call, 12 small and grass-roots CSOs working on circular economy will have opportunity to develop their capacities through tailor-made trainings.
At a minimum, the following topics will be trained:
1. Intro into CE, Green agenda, policy framework;
2. Circular design principles and business models;
3. Waste management and recycling;
4. Advocacy and participatory policy dialogue;
5. Organisational vision and strategy;
6. Fundraising (proposal development, budgeting, green financing, perfect pitch);
7. Visibility of EU-funded actions; and
8. Project management, including financial and operational aspects.
Each core topic will be delivered through an online session over a period of two (2) months (one training topic per week).
After the training, 8 out of 12 organisations will have opportunity to receive grants of up to 3,000 EUR for financial support of their locally-driven actions addressing waste management, waste reduction, reuse, and re/upcycling.
